facebook

OK - I got dragged into using Facebook by some of my closest friends - the last thing I needed was another social network site to keep up-to-date (I already use LinkedIn and Plaxo).

But after a few weeks, I have to admit that it's pretty cool.

Using TeamViewer for Remote PC Access

I've been using an application called TeamViewer (http://www.teamviewer.com) to remotely access PC's over the internet and it's great. The personal version is free. (For business use, there's a charge). It's easy to install and can run all the time or only when you need it. You can use it for remote access and also for two people to share a session. It's fast and just plain works.

Check it out.

Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son,the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity,Truth, compassion and faith.

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

The Web Archive

I'll bet most of you don't even know that this web site exists. The Web Archive makes snapshots of web sites and saves them. Every since 1996, this site has been archiving the web as an historical archive.

Want to see what IBM looked like in 1998? Go to http://www.archive.org/web/web.php and enter www.ibm.com and you can see it.

Pretty neat!

Things you can learn from your dog
